Dave McKinnis, Owner/President Dave began company operations in Blair, Nebraska in 1981. He has been involved in commercial and residential roofing for more than 35 years. Dave is responsible for the company’s operations, overseeing all departments.
Dave Scott, Vice President/Commercial Manager I began working for McKinnis Roofing as a Sheet Metal installer in 1996. Prior to that, I was in the United States Marine Corps for four years, and I also held a position as a residential shingle installer.

I am currently responsible for the sales and estimating of many large scale roofing projects as well as overseeing all commercial operations, from estimating to installing the roofs. I am very fortunate to be surrounded by an immensely talented group of employees who I consider our number one asset.

The St. Benedict Center in Schuyler Nebraska was my first and most memorable project to date. This was a very large job, which took immense time and effort to install standing seam copper on all the sloped roof areas. I have since been involved with a number of exquisite projects and have learned a tremendous amount about the Roofing Industry. The most outstanding part of my job has been meeting all of the customers that I have had the privilege of working with.

I am really proud to be a part of such a successful company with an excellent reputation in the roofing industry. We have been through a lot of changes since I started with the company, but one thing has always stayed the same: Customer Satisfaction. It has always been my goal for my customers to have a fantastic experience with McKinnis Roofing. We are proud to say that our number one referral source is word of mouth from our previous satisfied customers. This says a lot about the great service we insist on giving our customers.

Jamie Smith, Corporate Admin/Office Manager I started working at McKinnis Roofing as the Office Manager in 2001. I am responsible for payroll, accounts receivable, and ensuring that the office runs smoothly. This position brings many new challenges as the company continues to grow each year. In my spare time, I enjoy watching my children compete in soccer and baseball and spending time by the lake.
Orlando Bryan McKinnis, Accounts Payable/Marketing I began installing gutters and downspouts in the summertime for McKinnis Roofing in 2000. I continued doing this for four summers in a row, working and learning from different people. After attending college for one year, I worked as a standing seam metal roof installer in the summer of 2005. I learned a lot about this roofing system and realized that it takes a lot of time to master. I began working in the office in 2008 after graduating from the University of Nebraksa-Lincoln with a degree in Business Administration. I have really enjoyed learning about the administrative side of the company. I currently manage the accounts payable for the Blair, Norfolk, and Lincoln offices. I have also been trying to implement social media and online marketing in order to better connect with our customers. This is very challenging, as it is changing so rapidly. I am a big sports fan who religiously follows the Nebraska Cornhuskers. GO BIG RED!
Orlando Jeremy McKinnis, Sales Manager Jeremy started at the company in 1997 at a young age and worked in the field to become knowledgeable as a roofing specialist before joining the office staff. Jeremy works with the residential department, assisting with all areas of operation.
Orlando Robin Renard, Commercial Sales & Estimating Robin joined McKinnis Roofing in 2004. Robin handles the estimating and project management of multiple commercial roofing projects in Omaha and its surrounding areas. He uses his multiple years of industry experience to ensure each estimate is accurate and complete.
Orlando Orlando Cueva, Commercial Superintendent I started with McKinnis Roofing in 2000 as a laborer working on commercial roofing projects and did this for one year before being promoted to a commercial Foreman. The first job that I ran was the Nebraska State Penitentiary. This was a very challenging learning experience because no material or objects could remain on the roof at the end of the day due to inmate escape attempts.

I oversaw many roofing crews who installed both low slope and standing seam metal commercial roofing systems until being promoted to Assistant Superintendent in 2008. Through the years, I have continuously learned many new things about the roofing industry and gained numerous certifications including; a certificate of completion of the Contractor Quality Training program through Firestone Building Products and Carlisle Roofing systems; the LiveRoof System Certification; and a certificate of completion for the OSHA 30 Hour Workshop in Construction.

I was recently given the position of Commercial Superintendent where I am in charge of ordering the material, the production, and the scheduling for each commercial roofing project. I really enjoy being a part of McKinnis Roofing and continue to grow and learn new aspects of the roofing industry every day. I spend much of my free time with my family, and I am an avid golfer. I also take pleasure in strumming the guitar and the relaxing feeling I get from fishing.
Jay Wolff , Residential Production Manager-Roofing I started with McKinnis Roofing in 1996, working as a laborer on commercial flat roofs. I was then promoted to a foreman in the sheet metal department before becoming the Sheet Metal Superintendent. I held this position for many years and was able to learn a lot about the craft. I recently moved into the position of Residential Production Manager for residential roofing. This job brings something new and challenging each day. I have gained a lot of knowledge through the years about many different types of roofing systems. I continue to learn something new every day and believe this is one of the things I enjoy most about working for Dave.
Juli Ray Juli Ray, Commercial Office Assistant I started at McKinnis Roofing in February 2011 as the office assistant in the Commercial Department. Although I am new to the roofing business, my prior background is in commercial real estate, so I enjoy learning a new side of the industry. As well as assisting the project managers, I also do Human Resources for new commercial employees and help with safety procedures. I enjoy talking with customers and helping them in whatever way I can.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two year old daughter. She keeps me constantly on my toes as everything is a new learning experience for her. I also enjoy taking trips to the Black Hills and going fishing and boating whenever I can. I moved to Blair when I was three years old and lived here until I graduated from High School. I moved back with my husband in 2006. I really enjoy working at such a family oriented company. It’s nice to be able to work, live, and raise my family all in the same town.
Christina Johnson Christina Johnson, Residential Office Manager I came to McKinnis Roofing & Sheet Metal Inc. in the summer of 2011. Although I am new to the roofing industry, I came with a background in Office Management and Customer Service. I have learned so much from my co-workers and my training which allows me to better assist you! As the Residential Office Manager, I will guide you through the entire process of restoring the beauty of your home. I will be the first person you speak with when you call or stop by and will be there to assist you until the job is complete. I also help guide homeowners through the insurance process, which at times can be exhausting; but I am happy to explain everything from filing and understanding your claim, to recovering your depreciation. Originally from Arlington, NE I have recently relocated to Blair. When I’m not at the office I enjoy spending time with my family and riding my Harley. I love meeting all of our customers so feel free to come by and say Hi some time!
Dave Berg Dave Berg, Maintenance and Repair Department Manager I am a roofing expert specializing in commercial, industrial, and residential roofing systems. I am a certified Firestone commercial roof installer and have experience with multiple manufacturers and roofing systems. I started with the company in 2001 assisting with the installation of various commercial roofing projects and soon took over as the maintenance and repair technician for commercial and residential roofing systems. While doing this, I learned the importance of preventative maintenance and proper installation of flashings and accessories.

After several years of working as the repair technician, I was promoted to Superintendent of the Maintenance and Service department which expanded to additional repair crews. I have remedied thousands of roofing issues for customers using the knowledge that I have gained over the years. I believe in the company’s ideals of honesty and hard work ethics established by Dave McKinnis and Dave Scott.

I am currently the Maintenance and Repair Department Manager overseeing multiple service crews in Blair, Omaha, Lincoln, and Norfolk. I am involved with every service issue, from replacing a skylight to implementing a large scale maintenance program for commercial properties. One thing people should know is that many roof issues can easily be remedied before they become a major problem by having an annual or bi-annual roof inspection.

I believe that experience is the key to accurately determining the source of a problem and having a solution to remedy that problem quickly and permanently. I have experience in nearly every type of roofing system including EPDM, BUR, PVC, TPO, stone coated steel roofs, asphalt shingles, wood shingles, tile, slate, metal roofing systems, copper, and ventilation systems. I am also happy to have some of the most experienced tradesmen in our company with each lead man having an average of twenty years of experience in various roofing systems.

I am proud and pleased to be working with a professional and experienced team. The friendly environment at McKinnis Roofing makes going to work every day enjoyable, and I have also been fortunate to have great relationships with my customers for many years.
Guy W. Chinowth III Guy W. Chinowth III, Commercial Sales and Estimating-Omaha I have been involved with commercial roofing for thirty eight years. I started as an apprentice, progressed to a journeyman with certification, and then became a foreman. I have been a superintendent and an estimator for the past fifteen years and have been in charge of up to ten crews and over fifty workers. This includes the metal shop, service department, repair shop, and new construction.

I have completed the OSHA thirty hour training course; the Sharp Safety Program; the Management in Alcohol and Drug Substance Abuse Awareness Program; the OSHA eight hour Crane Operation Safety Course; the OSHA four hour Fall Protection Course; and the Cargill Plant 100 percent Fall Protection Program.

I really enjoy the professional and positive attitude of the staff and employees of McKinnis Roofing and Sheet Metal. Most of all, I enjoy working with our customers and helping them solve their roofing problems.

Some of my hobbies include spending time with my family, bowling, fishing, and watching football. I’ve been married for thirty eight years and have two sons and one daughter. We also are very proud of our six grandchildren, two of them being twins. Life is good.
Clint Scott Clint Scott, Residential Production Manager-Siding & Windows I recently came to McKinnis Roofing in 2010 and serve as the Residential Manager for Windows, Siding and Gutters. I have been in the construction industry for eighteen years, and I am honored to have been in the United States Navy during the Gulf War previous to that. My experience has been in framing, concrete, roofing, siding, and windows. Most of my experience has been in the window industry and I am excited to use my knowledge to continue to develop this area for our company. I am pleased to have joined McKinnis Roofing and welcome any calls from our customers, especially concerning our revamped Windows and Siding division.
Jeff Swantek Jeff Swantek, Residential Sales Manager I started with McKinnis Roofing in 2011. I bring with me over 25 years of experience in all aspects of the construction, home renovation and restoration industries. In that time, I have worked closely with many clients through the design, decision making, and pricing aspects involved in their construction and renovation projects. I am extremely happy and excited to be a part of the McKinnis Roofing family and believe in the philosophy that customer service is and always will be our number one priority.
